Space Cats Terms and Conditions

Last updated: 4 November 2026

These terms are an agreement between you and Gausaa Games ("we", "us"), the developer of Space Cats, a pixel-art arcade fighting game for Android. By downloading or playing Space Cats you agree to them. If you don't agree, please don't play the game.

In short: play and enjoy the game for yourself. Space Cats is free, with no ads and no in-app purchases. Coins, skins and the other items live inside the game and have no real-world value. Your progress is saved on your device, so keep its backups on if you don't want to lose it. Ranked online play uses our server and an online account with no sign-in: play fair. Achievements and leaderboards come from Google Play Games, if you choose to use it. Your rights as a consumer are never limited by these terms.

1. Who can play

If you are under the age of majority where you live, please read these terms with a parent or guardian.

2. Your license to play

We give you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable and revocable license to install Space Cats and play it on devices you own or control, for your own non-commercial entertainment. The Google Play Terms of Service also apply to the game you download from Google Play.

3. Fair play

Please don't copy, sell, rent or redistribute the game; don't modify, reverse engineer or decompile it, except where the law allows this; don't use cheats, hacks or modified versions of the game, in a Wi-Fi battle, on a leaderboard or anywhere else; and don't use the game for anything unlawful.

4. Free to play, no ads, no purchases

Space Cats is free. It has no ads and no in-app purchases, and coins can only be earned by playing. If a future version ever adds either, these terms will be updated before it is released.

5. Coins and other virtual items

Coins, fighters, skins, aura colours, avatar frames, titles, gallery cards, music tracks and the other items in the game are a license to use content inside Space Cats. They have no monetary value, cannot be bought with or exchanged for real money or for anything outside the game, and cannot be sold or transferred. We may adjust the game's balance, such as what items cost in coins and how coins are earned, to keep the game fair and fun.

Your progress and items are stored only on your device. We have no copy on a server, so if your device is lost or the game's data is deleted, we cannot restore them. Android's own backup (Android Auto Backup) can restore your progress when you reinstall the game, if you keep it turned on. Google Play Games keeps your achievements and leaderboard scores (section 8), but not your coins, items or other progress.

6. Wi-Fi battles

WI-FI BATTLE connects your device directly to another player's device on the same local network, only when you host or join a battle. There is no server: we don't run, see or moderate these matches. Please play them with people you know, on networks you trust, and be a good sport. The Privacy Policy lists what the two devices exchange.

7. Online play and ranked fights

ONLINE lets you play ranked fights against other players over the internet. It needs an internet connection and uses our server; the game makes an online account for you the first time you open it, with no sign-in (the Privacy Policy says what it keeps). The game asks you to accept these rules the first time you open ONLINE. Please be a good sport.

8. Google Play Games

On Android, Space Cats offers achievements and leaderboards through Google Play Games, a service run by Google. Using it is optional: the whole game can be played without signing in. When you use it, Google's own terms (the Google Terms of Service) and the Google Privacy Policy apply to it as well, and Google decides how the service works and whether it is available. Your Play Games name and your scores may be shown to other players as your Play Games settings allow. Scores must come from fair play (section 3): we may hide or remove scores that look manipulated. Achievements and leaderboard places, like coins, have no monetary value.

9. Daily challenges and missions

The Daily Challenge, its streak and other daily features follow your device's date and time. We may change, pause or end these features and the rewards they give.

10. Intellectual property

Space Cats, including its art, music, sounds, text and code, and the Gausaa Games name and logo, belong to Gausaa Games. All rights are reserved except the license in section 2. The game is built with open-source software, such as the Godot Engine, which is used under its own license (the MIT license).

11. Updates and availability

We may update the game, change or remove features, or stop offering it. Some updates may be needed to keep playing, for example so that both players' games match in a Wi-Fi battle. We work hard to make Space Cats run well, but we can't promise that it will always be available, work on every device or be free of errors.

12. Our liability

To the extent the law allows, the game is provided "as is", and we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, or for progress lost when a device or its data is lost or deleted. Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability that cannot be excluded or limited by law, such as for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud, and nothing affects your statutory rights as a consumer.

13. Ending these terms

You can stop playing at any time by uninstalling the game. If you break these terms, your license to play ends. Sections 5, 9, 11 and 14 continue to apply after that.

14. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms, for example when the game changes or the law requires it. The new version will be posted on this page with a new date. If you keep playing after the change, the new terms apply; if you don't agree with them, please stop playing.

15. Governing law and disputes

These terms are governed by the laws of the European Union and of the EU member state in which Gausaa Games is established, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. If you are a consumer, you also keep the protection of the mandatory laws of the country where you live, and you may bring a claim in the courts of that country. If you have a problem, please contact us first: most things can be sorted out quickly.
